STEAM in the classroom

John Sedgwick is a proud partner with West Sound STEM Network and many other local organizations.

Blue Origin Aerospace of Kent, WA partnered with JSMS students this year, to send student-created postcards to outer space.  Once the mail was received at a space station, the mail was stamped and mailed back to earth and received by John Sedgwick students! The artwork created by our students was inspiring.

PSNS Engineers from Naval Base Kitsap (Bremerton) continues to partner with Mr. Lantz's pre-engineering and intro to technology classes to provide innovative curriculum and materials for hands-on projects. This past semester, our students created battery operated racecars, and bridges created out of popsicle sticks and glue. Our students are incredible and their projects are unique and functional!
Check out the competition that was held recently to judge the bridge projects. The judging portion of the competition starts at 3:42:50. 4 students from John Sedgwick were mentioned in the video! We are so proud!

Pre-Engineering Bridge Competition

In partnership with PSNS, students in Mr. Lantz's pre-engineering class built bridges made of popsicle sticks and glue.
